Happy Spring, or, I mean, FALL 2008!!

Good Morning! How are you??

I've been a little absent lately because I've been preparing for a wholesale New England trade show I do once a year. It was the weekend before last through Monday. It was so very nice to meet all of my J. Knits faithful store owners, and meet some new ones too! It was nice to visit but I am very glad to be back dyeing and shipping yarn! It's amazing how long it takes to prepare for a trade show! It takes at least 2-3 months and then it's over in 2 days! Anyway, it's good to be back!

J. Knits has really experienced a lot of positive press lately and I'm so thankful! I'm not sure if you got a chance to see our new ad in the latest issue of Interweave Knits magazine? If not, it's on page 21 right at the top! Hope you like it! My team (Alison, Susan, Julie, Stephanie & Victor) all worked hard to make it happen!

On to more new news...

I am so pleased to be able to present to you a new FREE PATTERN on the website. Here it is:

It's called the Downtown Clutch and the designer is Cirilia Rose. This perky, fun Grad-School student and talented designer is not only a knitter extraordinaire, but she's also a model! She has done modeling for Lexie Barnes Bags for one (that's her on the front splash page sitting in the windowsill), but she also has a really popular blog called Skrilla Knits. This girl can seriously do it all! We're really, really lucky to be able to offer this pattern on the website as a freebie! The pattern will be appearing in the upcoming book, One Skein Luxury Wonders soon to be released. It uses just 1 skein of our Charming Yarn and I understand that it knits up in a jiffy! You can download this free pattern along with others by visiting our free patterns page here:

In other news, we've released a really nice selection of patterns for Fall '08. And I mean REALLY nice! There's a little bit of something for everyone...

This is the Teagan's Sock Pattern:

It's an adorable PAIR of socks that can be made for Mom & Daughter and uses our Superwash Me - Sock Yarn. This pattern is designed by Gail Gelin, an up-and-coming designer. We plan to feature a lot more of her designs in the upcoming months.

Next is the Garter Diamond Sweater:

It's a wonderful design that features sizes up to size 50! Everyone should look fashionable, regardless of size! This flattering shaped sweater is a must-knit for fall! The design is mine and the pattern was written by Alison Green Will. This sweater features a new yarn for fall, the Super-Sporty! Yarn. Better yet, this sweater is washable!! (I knew you'd like that!!).

This pattern is called Easy Does It - Cowl Neck Sweater:

It uses our new Soft Twist - Bulky Yarn. This yarn is so soft and wonderful! This sweater knits up quickly in the round and requires minimal assembly! You just pick up around the neck edge to add the cowl. So awesome! And, even though it's not really visible from the photo, there is a little decorative stitching around the bottom edge. You'll love this pattern!

That's enough for now. I hope all is well and that you're planning a trip to your LYS soon to pick up some great new J. Knits Yarn!

As always,
Have Fun & Knit Safely!
